Samantha Lee was born and grew up in Seoul, South Korea. She attended the Kaywon Art high school and received her bachelor’s degree in voice performance from Hanyang University in Seoul. She earned her master’s degree in voice performance from University of North Texas in 2012; she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in voice performance at UNT.

Objectives: Our goal as a studio is to learn the technique, creativity, and discipline of singing. Some subjects we will focus on include: breath, posture, diction, sight singing, vocal health, practice techniques, and song preparation. We will focus on classical music art song, folk song, and musical theatre selections. My goal is to help you in this journey and guide you to improve your talent and skills. Be patient with yourself, and take every lesson as a new opportunity to learn something you never knew or experienced before.

Expectations: I expect you to be prepared for every lesson. Please prepare your music to the best of your ability. I also expect you to practice! Please bring your pencil and music to your lesson. You may also bring water. Bring a good attitude and confidence!

Attendance: Please be on time to every lesson. If you are late I will not make up the time. I do not do make up lessons. My schedule is so full that I just don’t have the time to do them, plus I only have access to the practice room with the piano on my scheduled days. If a student is absent, I will usually just switch with another student to make sure that all students get a lesson that week. You will never pay for a lesson that you don’t receive.

Performances: A performance is a chance to learn something new about you and get more comfortable with the performing arts. All of my voice students will be expected to sing in the end of year recital in May. I will let you know the date several months in advance so you can get the date on your calendar.

Lesson Termination: Lessons are for the entire school year. If for some reason you wish to terminate your time in my studio, I would like 30 days written notice. The reason that we ask for a year commitment to lessons is that you need that much time to see substantial results.
Lessons will be 25- 30minutes in length and $21 per lesson. This is a FISD policy. You will be responsible for paying for your lesson each. Cash is preferable, as I have had some issues with checks in the past. Please make checks payable to “Eunkyung Lee” or quick pay to manda0819@gmail.com is welcome.
